Today I’m interviewing Willow. She’s eight years old and has been a student at The Open School for more than two years.
If you were elected Queen of the World, what’s the first thing you would do?
I would buy a huge tub of chocolate for my mom. Filled with chunks of brownie.
What season are you?
That question doesn’t make any sense. My favorite season is summer.
What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I’m funny. My mom and dad think I’m funny. And my aunt and uncle think I’m funny.
What is one thing that you think everyone should know?
Everyone should know how to make cake, because that would be awesome. Everyone should know how to cook so their parents could take a day off.
What happened before you were born?
I went to Hawaii in my mom’s stomach.
What’s the best rule at school?
Not allowed to go on the roof. What if someone went on the roof and fell? It’s a good rule.
You’re playing Animal Cracker. What animal are you and where will you hide?
A fox. I would hide behind a giant bush or underneath chairs. Or just constantly run all over the place. That’s always fun.
How have you changed since you first came to this school?
My hair grew longer.
What do you say when people ask you what grade you’re in?
I say second, but I shall be in third grade soon. Wait, actually I’m in third grade, I think. I lost track.
What’s the best field trip you’ve been on?
The contemporary art museum. We got to go to Little Tokyo too. It was so fun fun fun fun.
What would you put on Willow.com?
I would probably post a ton of pictures of trees. My name is a tree.
Where do lizards come from?
Lizards are descendants from dinosaurs. But which came first, the lizard, or the lizard that lizard came from, or the egg that lizard came from? They’re just very tiny dinosaurs.
What question should I have asked you?
What my favorite color is.
What’s your favorite color?
Gold, light blue, and hot purplish pink.
